The World of Outlaws Late Model Series Set to Invade Duck River Raceway Park on Sunday April 28th, 2013
Wheel, TN (04/22/13) – The World of Outlaws Late Model Series is set to make their first appearance at Duck River Raceway Park, LLC (Wheel, TN) on Sunday April 28th, 2013 for a $10,000 To-Win 50 lap event.
Making their first appearance to the middle Tennessee dirt track, the national stars and cars of the World of Outlaws series will be gunning for a $10,000 payday. Duck River fans get their chance to witness the nation’s top dirt late model super stars race around the famed Duck River Raceway Park under the new ownership of Bob and Cathy Harris.
Duck River’s April 28th program will mark the richest promotion in the short tenure of its new operators. Bob Harris, a former dirt Late Model team owner, and his wife Cathy purchased the facility in July 2012 and have invested over $100,000 in improvements since taking control of the speedway.
After capping Duck River’s 2012 season in mid-November with the successful ‘Deep Fried 75’ Super Late Model event won by Tennessee’s Vic Hill, Bob Harris said he’s anxious to show the fruits of his labor at the track to a large group of traveling racers and fans who will clamor to attend a high-profile WoO LMS show.
I’m real excited to bring the World of Outlaws to Duck River,” said Harris, who has overseen a flurry of construction and upgrades that includes new bathrooms, concession stands and guardrails and a fresh clay racing surface. “I think everybody will be real impressed with the facility and what we’ve done here, and we’re hoping this will be a starting point for a long relationship between Duck River and the World of Outlaws.”
The 50-lapper at Duck River Raceway Park, which is located about an hour’s drive south of Nashville, will complete a three-race swing in the state of Tennessee by the WoO LMS. The tour will also compete on Fri., April 26th, at Smokey Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN., and Sat., April 27th at Tazwell Speedway in Tazwell, TN.
