Kid’s Box Car Racing Is Back At Duck River on August 17th!!! New this year is a “PRELUDE” race with some of Duck River’s racers battling each other in box cars on August 10th!!! There will be 4 divisions: 2-3 year olds (an adult may assist but not carry child during race), 4-6 year olds, 7-9 year olds, and 10-12 year olds. All participants will receive a medal and other prizes. The top 3 finishers in all divisions will also be awarded ribbons. This is fun for both kids and adults! Let’s have a GREAT car count!
All box car racers must wear tennis shoes…bare feet or flip flops are not allowed for safety. You may register at the Kimages Photography & Graphics table at the track, email kimages77@gmail.com, call or text me at 931-638-0564. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions. I will need a “Crew Chief” (parent or guardian) name as a contact. Please register asap so I know how many medals and prizes to have on hand.
The race will take place on the front straight away. On race day, cars will be parked in the “Pit Area” for pre-race “inspection” by the fans. All cars must be made out of cardboard. They may be made to look like any type of car or truck, and they must have a number on both sides. Cars may have “handles” or strings to help the racers hold onto their cars during the race. Please make cars appropriate to child size. Suggested minimum suggested size for 2-3 year old is 20 in. length x 8 in height x 10 wide. Ages 4 & up suggested minimum size is 24 in length x 10 in height x 15 inches wide.
Boys and Girls, start building those cars!!!
